Entry 9: Referencing
Routing your mix through a bus will allow you to process your mix while allowing your reference track to go through to your main outputs without being processed.
Reference your bass
Put a low-pass filter on your Master bus. This is just temporary. Listen to the bass of your Reference track and then solo your own Main Mix bus. Compare the two and make adjustments.
After this, move up the frequency spectrum and reference your mix's mid range with the reference track, and then the highs. Listen out for the interaction between all instruments in particular - how each instrument takes up its own space.
